Special Needs & Autism-Friendly at the Library

Plano Public Library has interactive, inclusive SNAP Storytimes, STEAM Saturdays and SNAP Movies that are ideal for children with special needs such as autism spectrum disorders, sensory integration challenges or short attention spans. 

SNAP Storytime (ages 3 and up, registration required)
Activities are designed to stimulate the senses and promote learning – read books, sing songs, move around and have fun! Visit the Information Desk or email sensorystorytime@plano.gov for more information and check availability:

Summer 2019 schedule:
Davis Library, Wednesdays at 4 p.m. from June 12 – July 31
Parr Library, Thursdays at 9:30 a.m. from June 13 – August 1

SNAP Family Storytime (all ages, registration required)
For children with ASD and other special needs, and their families. Books, songs, movement activities, playtime, high structure and interaction in a sensory-sensitive environment that includes parents and siblings. Haggard Library, Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m. from June 11 – July 30

SNAP STEAM Saturday (all ages, registration required)
